Both Intel and VIA had previously announced that they will have upgraded and faster netbook processors available in netbooks in early 2009. Intel appears to have beaten VIA to the market with an updated processor.

Intel recently announced the availability of an operating system that it is developing for the Atom platform. The Intel operating system is called Moblin 2 and is available as an Alpha download. The new OS is being developed primarily for netbooks...
