Re: nc10 - mouse

You can turn it off from the Synaptics Touchpad Configuration utility. You should be able to get to the utility from the system tray (icon down by the clock) or by going to Start, Control Panel, Mouse, Device Settings, Settings. From here you can turn off the various option of the touchpad.

Re: RESCUECOM rates Asus as the most reliable computers

It seems rather flawed to base a report on the number of calls that you did not receive. "No one called us therefore no one is having problems". :D

Re: How important is battery life to you?

I would say not that important to me. I am within range of a plug 95% of them time and usually work plugged in anyway. It is pretty rare that I am using a computer away from power for 3 hours or more.

Re: HP Mini VGA cable now available from HP.com

Well I guess more buyers should be aware of the add-ons needed to make an HP Mini 1000 run like any other netbook! That is a shame on HP, I thought proprietaryship (did I make up that word) went out the window a few years ago, with Apple being the last one to give it up!

Re: Making a netbook work like Kindle

Personally I would prefer a netbook over an ebook reader like the Kindle (you can get software that makes the netbook work in the same way). But if you are serious about buying an ebook reader you should also check out the Sony Reader and the Fujitsu eBook Reader (color).

Re: What device do you use most often to browse the web?

Anyone use their gaming console to get online (other than to play online games)? I occasionally use my PS3 to browse the web, usually when I am already on it playing games. It has made great improvements in the last few updates and now works with most video sites like youtube and hulu.com. It seems ...
